ChiuGroup has an established sponsorship and matching gifts program which sets aside specific percentages of quarterly revenues to donate to selected charities. Our board members meet annually to pick charities from the communities we do business in to support. On top of making corporate donations, ChiuGroup also has a guaranteed matching gifts program, where our firm matches dollar for dollar each donation that our staff members make to the charities of their choice. Not-for-profit organizations are encouraged to reach out to a ChiuGroup team member and inquire about possible support through the ChiuGroup Corporate Sponsorship & Matching Gifts Program.
Historically, ChiuGroup has donated over 10% of annual gross revenues to charity and community causes.
All ChiuGroup staff members, whether senior consultants or project analysts, are required to complete a minimum of 250 hours of volunteer civic engagement work each year. ChiuGroup further supports our community involvement requirement by providing technical and tactile resources and capacity-building to back up each staff member's volunteering. Our staff members currently average 10+ hours of volunteer work per staff member per week. We truly believe that by engaging in such meaningful community service, our staff members have a deeper appreciation for building meaningful and trusting relationships with our clients.
ChiuGroup consultants have, for the past few years, been involved with a local not-for-profit healthcare charity, Academy of Medical & Public Health Services (AMPHS). Executive Managing Partner Hewett Chiu sits on the Board of this organization and volunteers as the CEO, and another of our Managing Partners, Mon Yuck Yu, volunteers on the executive management team as the Chief of Staff. Together, they have built the organization into a 50-volunteer strong community-recognized coordinator of health care access, services, and resources for immigrant populations. Applying strategic and critical thinking frameworks, Hewett and Mon Yuck both have been able to bring AMPHS out of tough times and developed several solid revenue streams to fund the organization's ongoing healthcare programming. In addition, each year, ChiuGroup makes several corporate donations to support the mission of AMPHS in bringing healthcare to immigrant and underserved families.

ChiuGroup performs pro-bono consultations and productions on a limited basis. The program is open to all eligible charities recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Treasury's Internal Revenue Code and have been listed on GuideStar for a minimum of 6 months.
Please note that because of the resources, time commitment required, and popularity of this program, we cannot offer pro bono services to all charities who apply. Selection to participate is extremely competitive, and is based on an application process and a screening of organizational reports, recommendations from supporters, and additional supporting documents. Usually, ChiuGroup takes on one to two pro bono projects each year.• Organization Name, Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Size of Organization, Date Founded and Incorporated
• A 500 word description of your organization, including programs, constituents, revenue streams, and long-term vision
• A 500 word explanation of the services you are requesting from us and why we should offer you pro-bono services• A 250 word explanation of how participation in the ChiuGroup pro-bono program will allow you to further your mission
• A copy of your most current financial reports / annual report / financial statements• A copy of your IRS tax-exempt determination letter and most current Form 990 (if one was previously filed)
• One letter of recommendation from an external supporter explaining why your organization deserves to be chosen• Any additional documents you would like to include to help in our decision
ChiuGroup asks our consultants to individually maintain ongoing, active civic engagement through long-term volunteering efforts with community organizations. We believe that upholding such rigorous community involvement standards places us ahead of the curve by offering a more fulfilling work experience for our consultants, which is in turn reflected in the work our consultants deliver to our clients. In addition, our consultants have expressed how much more they appreciate their work and society through this program.
Being so dedicated to our community, ChiuGroup also runs a pro-bono program for tax-exempt charities. This program allows us to directly give back to our community as a whole, and not just on an individual level.
